My objective in my work is to connect the viewer to a singular unique moment. By painting unpopulated landscapes or individual objects, I strive to remove all distraction and bring the essence of the subject to the fore. By singling it out, I’m asking the viewer to consider its individuality within our collective experience. I hope to provoke in the viewer a consideration of his/her own individuality within that same collective.
